I’m sure that I’m not the only one who does this… You get something new and it gets lost in the shuffle of your creative space, it’s not till you clean/organize/move that you rediscover the little gem!! A discovery happened this last week while I have been moving my space downstairs! The other bonus is this hidden surprise was also an item I didn’t know how to use so I got to experiment and research something new as well!
What was this new gem??!! Lindy’s Stamp Gang magicals.
Magicals are a high pigment powder that can be added to a variety of mediums/water to create pigment! Each pot contains a combination of our beautiful micas, a specialized powdered painting stain system and a fixative, that is acid-free. The combination of the mica and the painting stains give them that amazingly vibrant look, but still have the signature two-toned effect.
Anyways, I have been playing around with these babies a lot and with all the stuff I mixed it with, water tends to be my favourite go to!! But in this tiny tutorial I mixed with a few mediums for different effects!
Here are the steps to creating this project using Magicals along with other favourites!
-After spraying my watercolour paper with water i sprinkled magicals [tea pot purple, mad hatter mint green and clam bake beige) where I wanted my color concentration! Then I mist with a bit more water to make the colors run. Allow to dry.
-Taking texture stamp and versamark I used ebossing powder (imperial purple gold and angel wings peacock) to creat texture in two corners.
-Using Frenchy’s Pink Pouf mist I misted a few chipboard pices and strips of water color paper. Using a circles stencil apply whipped spackle on background and previously sprayed watercolor strip.
-randomly apply whipped spackle onto chipboard frames and flourishes.
-Mix whipped spackle and clam bake beige magical together and apply through a chevron stencil.
-Cut out three pices of watercolor paper to fit behind the frames, stamp two of them with Bloom Girl faces, accent these with water and magicals (clam bake beige and tea pot purple).
-On the third piece apply magical (mad hatter mint green) with water.
-Assemble these behind the frame and arrange paper strips and flourishes.
-Drip some of your Frenchy’s Pink Pouf spray onto your craft mat and rub edges of sticker words through it to enhance edges.
-Adhere these over centre frame opening.
-Using pop dots apply this to the background.
And a few close ups!
